Sand Dune, a children’s song, and an essay on its creation — by Hakushū Kitahara.

“Around the middle of June (Taishō 11), I traveled to Niigata in Echigo Province. When I arrived, the children of Niigata were extremely delighted and held a children’s song concert in my honor. They sang only my children’s songs, so you can imagine how overjoyed I was. That day, from just before three in the afternoon, more than two thousand students from various elementary schools filled the auditorium of the Normal School, all eagerly awaiting my arrival.”

This audiobook is a new recording of the “Reading Timeless Story Series” that was performed at the Museum of Modern Japanese Literature on April 12, 2025.
